Material Considerations

Maser material is more than an NV concentration.

For microwave devices, the useful specification combines ensemble properties with crystal volume, surface finish and mechanical geometry. These projects are therefore treated as engineered material systems rather than fixed catalog pieces.

Control the active spin population

NV concentration and uniformity are selected around the required ensemble signal and spin-performance regime.

02 · CRYSTAL VOLUME

Match the resonator mode volume

Unlike many standard quantum-diamond experiments, maser-oriented work may require larger lateral dimensions or thicker crystals to better match the microwave cavity geometry.

03 · MECHANICAL GEOMETRY

Polish and cut around the device

Side polishing, custom angles, chamfers, thickness control and other post-growth processing can be defined around cavity coupling, optical access and mounting requirements.

Custom size / geometry capability: depending on material design and project requirements, larger samples up to approximately 10 mm class and thicknesses up to approximately 3 mm can be discussed, together with side polishing, angle control and other experiment-specific processing.
